Another good value CD, 14 tracks, over 66 minutes of music, from the leader of the worship team at City Elim Pentecostal Church in St Albans, and it's all his own work. Some of this music was recorded at City Church's Rivers That Flow Conference and broadcast on the God Digital TV channel, so you may have already caught it over the past few months. There's loads of very competent grassroots worship material coming out of the UK evangelical and charismatic church scene these days, and this is more of the same. It says all the right things and makes all the right noises, although there's a certain deja-vu about some of it, because some well known lyrical phrases (some may say cliches) keep coming around. Also, whilst the production is okay, some of the vocals need work (the girls' lead vox in particular are a tad thin) and the arrangements are fairly predictable. Even so, there're more hits than misses, but more originality would be welcome.
