With the former belief that not a lot could top the quality of hip hop artists GRITS and rap king T Bone, I now stand corrected. K2S are duo KaBUC and D-smooth, who cruise through their thang with melodic hip hop grooves and rhymes, with often hard-hitting results. One song stopped me in my tracks and left me searching, through tearstung eyes, for the Kleenex. 'Operation Rescue' pulls no punches in its pro-life stance on abortion used in the States, which makes harrowing listening. Like I said, the guys aren't worried about offending people's sensibilities. The whole album really is a challenge to the Christian to live life with no compromise. 'Second Choice' sternly warns us to put God first in everything and not to offer him our leftovers, while 'Believaz Boogie' is a light-hearted vibey tune with plenty of bass - but the underlying message is that it's OK for believers to boogie on down before God and for us to lose our religious hang-ups about it. My only criticism is that the album's production could be crisper which would eliminate the occasional blurred edges. All in all, a forceful, spiritually aggressive album which acts as a perfect balance to the worldly and sexual aggressiveness of secular hip hop. I'll be playing this for a long time.
