Following up their excellent debut album 'Welcome To The New Era', duo K2S are fast staking claim as one of the most creative hip hop acts in christendom. Tight rhymes, a social conscience and a breadth of musical vision make this new album a hot contender for rap album of the year. Highlights include 'Channel 3 Live' which incorporates high church choirboy singing with an intense backing track and ferocious rapping. Unusual and totally compelling. Meanwhile Mrs Metro One, Crystal Lewis, makes an appearance singing the chorus of a creative remix of the Bee Gee song 'How Deep Is Your Love'. Good fun! The Insyderz contribute there talents to create a groovy horn blasting, rip-roaring 'Common Ground'. But elsewhere away from the intersecting collaborations, KaBuck and D Smooth do their stuff with great aplomb. Check out 'Walk On The Wild Side' groove of 'Keep Moving, Keep Going'. When it comes to writing lines that hit you between the eyes, the message of 'True Love Waits' is an uncompromising call for sexual purity that rides along on an understated groove. Like GRITS, K2S are making music that can challenge the top rap acts on the planet but unlike the mainstream crowd, they have a message that's worth hearing. If you're hunting for hot hip hop, here it is!
