When you know that the 20 hymns on this album originate from the No Organist? No Problem! series, it gives a clue to the aim of the CD. This I perceive is not to be purely an aid to listening pleasure for those who love organ music, but to act as a tool for those who wish to have traditional organ music for their gatherings and have found that their locality does not have a person skilled in that particular instrument. For anyone already planning their Easter services then maybe this selection of Lent and Easter hymns may just fit the bill. This album had the effect of transforming my car into a time machine, transporting me back to a village C of E church. Here once again I donned the robes of a choirboy catching the glare of an organist spying on the choir stalls with the aid of a rear-view mirror. How many times will I want to repeat that experience I wonder.
