The press release says that producer Dan Posthuma hunted high and low to locate Ms Miller after hearing her voice. Well, he found her, and the result is this debut album. It's very commercial - especially the opening song "You Knew The Way To My Heart" and Ms Miller's lyrics are for the most part very strong.  In fact throwing critical caution to the wind - they're some of the best I've seen. "Dangerous Place" is a song about abortion, how a mother's womb is the most dangerous place in America.  Here's a taster: "Little ones to him belong/Little ones where have you gone/Was it war that stilled your voice?/No, it was your mother's choice/Where was the doctor's healing hand/When children/died across the land/ Was it in search of saving life/ No, death came from his knife." Pretty strong stuff! Nevertheless there is some bad news (at least for Cyndi Lauper). Julie Miller sounds so much like Cyndi that I wouldn't be surprised to see her gazing into the jobcentre window before too long.  I thought maybe it was my imagination, so I played the album to a friend and he said..."Isn't that Cyndi Lauper?" I rest my case. The album is great, Dan Posthuma's production is hot - from the jangly acid coast rock/60s guitars to the accordion. Julie Miller has a lot of talent and I think that with a little more direction she could well break away from Cyndi Lauper's shadow and be one of the best Christian artistes around at the moment.

I saw her live at Superfest @ Glen Helen Park in 1990 (I believe), debuting this very album - WOW!

I had never heard of her before the festival but it would be hard to forget her after seeing/hearing her performance. The live show was very moving, it seemed like she had not come to terms with some issues in her life, maybe not fully settled on God's willingness to forgive us despite how bad some of the things we might have done were.

I really hope she is happy and content in her life.

Anyway, Julie is great and 'Meet Julie Miller' is a classic.

I have this classic cd by Julie; yes a great fave. "What would JESUS do" was one the first songs I heard on ccm radio when it debuted. Of course the song included vocals of 2 outstanding ccm artists, Russ Taff and Amy Grant. I luv the sincerity in Julie's vocals. And "Broken Things" who can forget from her second cd. The Williams Bros. covered this song so beautifully on their "Harmony Hotel" cd. She has also contributed on several ccm artists projects to include, Benny Hester, Russ Taff (from "Our Hymns") and the late Mark Heard. Other artists have recorded her songs as well. GOD Bless! -Don

Yes, I am looking for 'What Would Jesus Do' as well - hoping it will be on her compilation album. Perhaps we should request it at their site...?!

Julie Miller's early music is all out of print now-a-days. Like Michele said you can find it on Ebay for a rather pricey amount. Sometimes you can find them cheap. I am so glad I still have my tapes: Meet Julie Miller and Orphans and Angels, I used to have a copy of He Walks Through Walls but no longer. You can go to Buddy & Julie Miller's website, they just recently downloaded portions of songs from her early albums. It's hard to find the entire song on the net anywhere though. Have a good one.

He Walks Through Walls can be found on i-tunes. I just bought and downloaded it yesterday. Thank God! Still searching in vain for Meet Julie Miller and Orphans and Angels. Currently on sale with Amazon for $100.00. I am not willing to spend that much for a used cd.

So, sad! What would Jesus Do is such a wonderful song. This album is great but can't even be purchased on the web site. I too used to have it on tape and it wore out. Does anyone know how to find it?

I love this album and had it on tape growing up. I played it so many times it finally wore out. I have been looking for it on a CD, but have not had any luck.
