I suspect Salvationist Publishing & Supplies were surprised by the big sales they enjoyed for their 'Restrung' compilation of Joystring's oldies. But now that it has been established that there are sufficient numbers of nostalgists who remember that amazing time in the early '60s when the Salvationist group were momentarily rubbing shoulders with the British beat hitmakers in the UK charts SP&S are following through with this 23-song compilation featuring tracks originally issued on the Joystrings' Christmas releases 'Well Seasoned' (1966) and 'Carols From Around The World With The Joystrings' (1967). Many of the tracks here sound, of course, decidedly dated today but occasionally a top rate song like Joy Webb's "A Starry Night" or an intriguing take on an obscure carol (anyone for "Carol Of The Bagpipers"?) make for charming listening. If you or your mum remember the Joy Strings in their heyday this could make a nice stocking filler.
