Since the release of his debut mini-album Josh has been refining his songwriting style and has been playing numerous gigs around his Norwich base. His latest offering is a six-track EP that continues Josh's uncomplicated acoustic style. Produced by Jimmi Clarke and featuring Andrew Small (Kylie Minogue, Massive Attack) on drums and Dan Storey (Alisha Dixon) on lead guitar, it is an EP to take notice of. Reminiscent of the simple acoustic sound of Jack Johnson, Josh has created a gentle yet colourful set that explores who God is and our response to him. "Green Eyes" asks the listener to imagine God speaking to them and challenging them to trust as everything needed for life is found in him. Josh himself describes "All This Wondering" on his website as a song that is totally authentic, going back to basics musically "like making a cupcake . . . in a cup". However, my personal favourite is "Something Out Of Nothing" that has a tight laid-back groove.
