New Mexico born Johnathan (yes, that IS how he spells it) has come a long way in the journey that has eventually led to this debut solo release. A veteran of a number of choirs and winner of several singing awards, Dawson describes this collection as being for "true believers". What we get on this album are self-produced, written and arranged smooth soul ballads and cool grooves, which to a soul fan would I'm sure hit the mark, but which, if truth be known, would probably not win too many new converts as it treads exactly the path you would expect.
