The stories on this album were intended (I think) to entertain kids - that being the case they failed miserably with mine. If it's not mutated or teenage ninja or rapped out by MC Hammer, they don't want to know - maybe they make different kids where John Rutter comes from. Feeling as though I'd suddenly been sucked into the generation gap black hole that I hadn't realised existed until this point, I had to admit to myself that I actually liked it! Richard Baker's narration was excellent but the Kings Singers were the topping on the cake, sliding from stuffy choral sounds to swinging jazz with the ease of a skater on a greased banana skin. At one point they do a vocal imitation of a vintage car ("The Wind In The Willows") that has to be heard to be believed! Blow the kids, get this one for yourself.
