While this latest release from Joey G can be commended for its spirit and bold proclamation of faith, as with his full length 'Time For Revival' the music here is yet to meet the mark, and for similar reasons. The production quality is again lacking and it leaves the record sounding tired past the realms where one could say it instilled a raw street vibe. While the young London-born rapper manages to throw down some memorable vocal melodies the repetitive lyrics (there is a huge overuse of rhyming "through" with "through" in the opener) fail to take hold of these moments and profit them as good songwriting. It should be said that Joey G obviously has a passion for hip-hop, it's just that this tends to be expressed more through imitation rather than innovation; the beats seem to be chosen for their "classic" hip-hop sound more than for their benefit to the song. Hopefully the man's good intentions can come into their artistic own in future releases.
