11 songs for voice and keyboards written and composed by Jo Wright. The songs are good enough - moderately catchy and easy on the ear. Jo has a pleasant voice with possibilities for future emotional development. This tape was initially a fund-raising scheme for a crusade to South Africa. Jo has performed the songs in churches round the area and has already sold over 400. She has a nice keyboard style, although I found the beat could be undisciplined on the faster tracks. Nice clear tape quality but she really needs more professional production and arrangement help; the songs tend to become samey. I would love to see her go on to create something that builds on this: the style lends itself to a fuller interpretation with a sympathetic band and harmony vocalists who are allowed to do more than sound sparse and ethereal. Drums and bass would iron out the occasional disconcerting rhythm problem, too.
