An album of songs which are easy on the ear, penned and performed by singer/songwriter Jo Wright, now living in a Dartmoor village where Greybeard Cummings once lived (thought you'd like to know that]. Mainly working with voice and solo piano with other instruments occasionally augmenting the recordings, Jo has a strong clear voice which shines through in every song. Although there's little here which is earth shatteringly original, the songs are well written and nicely recorded. The highlight of the set is the poignant "My Lord" which looks at the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ from the standpoint of Mary. Elsewhere this is all pleasant enough but sounds a bit dated and could easily have been recorded in the 70s. If you want some simple songs of faith presented in easy style, then this is all fine and Jo has done a good job.
