Janet Paschal has been nominated for Grammy and Dove awards and has sung for Billy Graham and President Bush. More than a singer, she is the official spokesperson for Mission Of Mercy, an international Christian relief organisation. This collection is taken from performances on 17 Gaither Homecoming releases. Much that is on offer here would be what you would expect if you are familiar with the Gaither style. Top rate musicianship, backing an up tempo feel good, spiritually uplifting singalong. Clearly this lady has a big voice which shines on those sort of numbers, especially when backed by the big gospel choir. Some of the slower songs don't quite click as well although a pleasant rendition of Michael Card's classic "El Shaddai" is one of the exceptions to that. At times it all gets a little bit sentimental and overblown, for example on "Another Soldier's Coming Home". On many of the tracks the audience can clearly be heard to be enjoying the whole experience and I'm sure that there will be some fans who'll want to share the Homecoming experience with Janet too.
