For 3 decades we have been blessed by the songs, and the
voice of ccm vet Jamie Owens-Collins. I have not heard
anything by her in the millenium years: does any one know
what Jamie is doing these days?
I have this original album, great one to have. One of the
album hi-lites is Gary Chapman's "I'm YOURS" that ccm radio
played off and on in the 80's era. Side 1 has a song
co-written with another ccm vet, Chris Christian, the song
is "Look How Far You've Come": Chris Christian recorded the
song also for His 1981 lp "Just Sit Back". Notice the album
title; we would hear this same title 4 years later from
ccm's first lady of ccm/gospel Amy Grant. Jamie's sweet,
soft voice
echoes so beautifully on the starter song for side 2:
"How Could I Ever Say No". I luv this song! The last song on
side 2 "Shine Through Me" was also penned by the songwriting
talents of Gary Chapman; another song to touch the heart.
Jamie co-wrote "Walkin' On" with Gary Chapman and unknown
singer/song-
writer/musician at the time, Michael W. Smith. CCM vet Phil
Keaggy lends his talented guitar playing on this song, as
well as the background vocals that are done by Jamie's
husband Dan. Great Song!! This song is definitely the
sound of CCM. GOD Bless!-Don
