This two-song single release from a Rugby-based singer/songwriter is a pretty impressive debut. His voice encapsulates the tender vulnerability of Athlete's Joel Pott meeting the rugged, soulfulness of Marcus Mumford. Lyrically, too, his official debut release showcases undeniable potential and poetry. His ethereal voice carrying his delicate lyricism transports you into his world. The one thing that could be benevolently critiqued is that such remarkably poignant words are more suited to the bookshelves alongside Seamus Heaney and WH Auden and perhaps don't necessarily work so well to a melody. However, the melodies (in themselves) and general production of both songs are, well, rather good. All in all, a stellar first effort from this up-and-coming songwriter.
