Since deciding to become a solo artist in 2004, Ikye has produced two albums (the first being 'Another Miracle') and now 'Fly High'. Ikye's velvety smooth vocal delivery and songwriting demonstrate a gentle re-affirming style to the listener. The standout track "Sailing" talks about sailing on difficult waters, and the title track encourages the listener to spread their wings. It would be an understatement to say that Ikye can play the piano - the beautiful "All I Wanna Do" has a beautiful introduction, as he sings about his heart of worship. The only minor complaint is that on occasions, the production is a little too clean and clinical, such as on "Cos I Love You" where some instruments sound almost artificial, even though all instruments on the album are played by Ikye. This aside, Ikye is an excellent singer, instrumentalist and songwriter ("Solemn Anthem" and "The Way I Do" with its encouraging words are just two examples), this album deserves to be heard.
