Fronted by singer/songwriter Stephen McWhirter, this Louisville-based worship team's 11-song debut album follows hot on the heels of the title track's single release. With a voice like Third Day's Mac Powell, Steve delivers passion and power to some great songs such as "Your Love Is A Fortress" with its pulsating rhythm and the strident declaration: "In you I'm fearless/Oh who can stand against us." A gentler song with effective guitar and banjo accompaniment is "My Confidence", which builds into a strong conclusion. "Sons And Daughters" is a beautiful song featuring vocalist Joel Gerdis. It provides a contrast on this album, not only in the singing style, but also in the singer's perspective: the words of God to us, his children. The penultimate track, "Free In You", is a gospel song with a folky feel featuring accordion and mandolin alongside which the vocals of Stephen and the backing singers are integrated magnificently as they sing a chorus that references our Lord's inaugural speech from Luke chapter 4. The main aim of the team and its umbrella ministry is to restore lives and unlock destinies and Iron Bell Music's album is an excellent vehicle to spearhead this work.
