Interior Motive are a five-piece guitar-driven combo from Cookstown, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland, and since they formed the band in 1999 have gigged all over Ulster, including several appearances at Summer Madness. Their work has already graced the hallowed pages of this magazine; Mike Rimmer reviewed a three-song single release back in CR58, and was impressed by the power of vocalist Sarah Clayton (now Sarah Stewart), and the quality of the songwriting. To those basic ingredients can now be added the production expertise of Trevor Michael and although I haven’t heard the earlier EP I can confirm that Sarah really does know how to get a song across, and the other members of the band give her excellent support, both instrumentally and vocally. The message in the music is always clear and unambiguous, highlighting their faith and pointing the listener towards the God they serve (check out the lyrics in the excellently presented CD), so if driving guitars and punchy rhythms turn you on, this is worthy of your attention.
