Instrumental versions of contemporary worship songs played on keyboard and piano, guitars, flute and woodwind, and keyboard. It says on the front, "16 songs of peace, tranquillity and intimacy", and that is the initial feeling but it soon becomes more like boredom, sleepiness and "more Christian elevator music". Inevitably some of the tracks work better than others as instrumentals: best is Keith Getty's tune to "O For A Closer Walk With God"; and the quality of the songs themselves (lyrics are included but hard to read in small white font on pale backgrounds) ranges from very good to mediocre. Perhaps you can't expect constant excellence in volume six of a series. Songs are mostly post-2000, not the best known new songs; arrangements are straightforward and lacking any interest to make up for the lack of vocals.
