This is the second release in the inspire series from ICC, aimed at taking new and modern worship songs and rearranging them into a smaller less produced setting. So this set is filled with stripped down, unplugged arrangements that will work within small groups and also more intimate worship settings. The twelve tracks are all well produced and consist of piano and guitar ably performed by Phil Loose and Dan Boreham respectively, and an array of session singers including Cathy Burton, Julie Costello, Aaron Frith, Nicki Rogers and Neil Wilson. Taking away all of the big production and a lot of the instrumentation gives much more room for expression and the performances, and ultimately the songs are better for it. Kathryn Scott's "Hungry" and "How deep the Father's love" by Stuart Townend translate easily into this acoustic setting, but then also "Hosanna" by Paul Baloche and "All Over the World" by Matt Redman and Martin Smith work well in this different environment. For worship leaders looking for new inspiration, and small groups wanting to use worship in a smaller environment, this collection is particularly recommended.
