On the face of it, a 10-song CD for £3.50 sounds a bargain, but whilst a playing time of just under 37 minutes could have been more generous, the biggest problem with the review copy I was given was the recording quality. Frankly, the hiss and distortion were very bad on some tracks, and the singing and songwriting were not a lot better. Whilst there are a few redeeming features (a hot axe intro on "Give Me More", a Status Quo-style 12-bar riff on "Sittin' On A Couch", and "Highway To Heaven" could've come straight out of the Duane Eddy How To Play Twangy Guitar Manual), the poor production values drag the whole thing right down the square scale.

"Highway to Heaven" has potentially a lot going for it, in
the right artistic hands of course! With a good comic video
in support and it's stirring, catchy, foot-tapping chorus
of, "come and take a trip on the Hi-i-way to Heaven, do, do,
do." I think Timothy Leary would have been proud to take
part had he lived long enough to listen to it. Well I would
say all that, he ain't heavy, Ian's my brother!
