When available, briefly via Alliance, this got a 10 square review in CR30. Well, I'm not sure about that but this is fun all the way with a collection of famous hymns reworked into the garage/happy house genre of dance by Ian Eskelin and David Sears. All the tracks retain the tune and musicality of the original hymns although at this upbeat tempo some of the words have been a little crunched. Particularly worthy of mention are "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", "Amazing Grace" and "Power In The Blood", all of which left me wanting more. "Joyful Joyful" features Crystal Lewis on vocals in a mix, which could easily have graduated from the Steve Silk Hurley Class of '92. Finally don't worry if your copy of Redemption Hymnal isn't handy to sing along, all the words are in the cover insert. And anyway, you'll be too busy dancing to read them.
