This album is the third in Hosanna! Music's "Scripture Songs' series of Bible passages taken from a variety of translations set to easy listening style tunes. The music is, on the whole, relatively simple and the majority of songs are easy to pick up and sing along with after just a few listens. Musicians and singers alike perform some impressive arrangements and even get away with an accompanying children's chorus on "Follow Me". Musically, this album is a treat to listen to, but the real making of the songs are the words, "For what can compete with the word of God?" As the title suggests these songs are comforting and also encouraging and uplifting too. A welcome extra is the accompanying bookmark featuring all the Bible passages used on the album. This mellow, relaxing mixture of songs is great for a quiet time of reflection, both to hear God's word and to praise him.
