Horizon Music is a worship aggregation hailing from Horizon Community Church in Tualatin, Oregon and their debut album showcases the substantial talent contained within the church's four walls. Produced by Dave Lubben (Kutless, Hollyn) and vocalist Aaron Russell, this release largely avoids sounding like much of today's modern worship fare thanks to some overriding dance music influences. Kicking off with the stirring title track, this is an album that speaks of the fact that God is worthy to be praised and can be relied upon in our times of greatest need. Horizon Music have a host of different vocalists helping to keep things varied whilst getting that message across. A range of subtle but expertly executed dance grooves allow tracks like the evangelical "Tell The World" and the song of surrender "Waterfall" to shine whilst the beautifully ethereal "Glory" is a particular highlight on account of an enchanting vocal from Tiffany Ordonez and an equally captivating musical backdrop. Elsewhere, the plaintive "Why" focuses in on Jesus' crucifixion from the believer's point of view before HCC's lead pastor Stan Russell provides an impassioned spoken word sermonette on the famous John 3:16 Scripture and the consequences of non-belief to round off an innovative and quality first album from the folks at Horizon.
