Oh no, I thought. A privately produced tape of 10 songs as performed to various church congregations - why not the latest World Wide Message Tribe or Petra? However, it is really fantastic when your prejudices are challenged and within a few minutes of sitting down to listen to Helen's collection of songs I realised that people all over the place must have been blessed and encouraged by her music ministry. Each number has the same scriptural punch that Don Francisco always has but set very much in a worship arena. Musically the style of easy listening worship won't appeal to all, but other influences give just enough variety to keep things moving along (a little touch of country and western on the title track amongst others). As a privately produced recording the collection shines. With a producer, band and recording budget this lady could take the world by storm, but I suspect that sort of thing isn't what motivates Helen Magill, just a desire to praise the Lord. Check it out.
