First impressions of McKee from her album photos bring up the idea of a soft-voiced country singer. In actual fact, her vocal style reminds me more of Avril Lavigne - her voice is more like that of a teenager who hasn't been singing for too long than of a well-weathered country singer. Her songs are a mix of inspirational balladry and pop/rock tracks occasionally moving to a country feel. The songwriting is not bad, but is not terribly inspired either. This, coupled with McKee's rather nasal vocal tones will deter many listeners. The sleeve reveals that all instruments are apparently played by one person - take a bow Tony Ford - but such a budget line production approach is, again, a listening deterrent. There are a couple of effective songs like "Raise My Hands", which starts well with a pleasant piano riff and gentle vocals and "Everything God Made Me To Be", where McKee utilises her lower, softer range. An album unlikely to attract too much attention in a crowded marketplace.
