Singer, songwriter, preacher, producer, actor and educator Bishop Heanon Tate is a larger-than-life character who heads up Inner Courts Global Outreach in Irmo, South Carolina and Orlando, Florida. This album, released in 2011, got some attention from clubland on its release and is a pretty impressive blend of funky rhythms, soaring vocal delivery and encouraging spoken parts. Heanon has a truly excellent voice, demonstrated on the gentle, slow paced "I Don't Wanna Know" and the beautiful "He Reigns". "Alright", however, is more up tempo, drawing slight comparisons with Luther Vandross in places. Overall this is an enjoyable album.
