This sort of chore brings reviewers, really a bunch of softies if you but knew, out in a sweat. How do you criticise such a transparently sincere and good-hearted attempt at a music ministry video? I'm actually rather more impressed with Hazel's treatment of these cover versions than TC appeared to be in his review of the album. This is a pure, sweet voice which brings out the beauty of the material quite fully. The problem's with the very fragmented and bitty theme of the video. In showing various aspects of the ministry and of Hazel's daily life, bits of testimony and a sackful of odds and ends, there's a lack of any consistent flow. The fact that the sound is less than spot on makes it difficult to match up song lyrics with the accompanying action, which one would assume to be the purpose. The inclusion of sign language interpreters is praiseworthy. A brave but flawed attempt at portraying what is obviously a very pleasing, effective ministry.
