If someone had sat down with Ms Dickinson before the start of this project and pointed out that her choice of cover-versions only was flawed and she needed some songs of her own this could have been a very good custom tape. As it was, Leslie Phillips' original of the title track can't be equalled, well certainly not by the miniscule recording budget of privately financed albums, while equally Hazel's covers of Kathy Troccoli, Twila Paris, Andrae Crouch, Deniece Williams etc all suffer greatly in comparison with the originals. Hazel has a very good voice and an anointed ministry. The synth-pop arrangements are OK. But Hazel needs original material. Aspiring songwriters, send your demos to the address above. Consumers had better leave 'Strength Of My Life' alone
