For what will be their final album on Tooth & Nail the Canadian rockers return to their punk roots with a sound akin to Sum 41 or Fall Out Boy. It settles down a bit, giving more space for the songs to work in whilst not dropping the energy level too far. Even the picked guitar of "My Next Breath" has pace and energy. Whilst there are the thoughtful moments, the general tone of the CD is upbeat and joyful - almost in McFly territory at times. The mix is very good - the vocals sitting just far enough above the rest of the band to be clear without sounding like the band are unimportant. This all adds to the energy of the CD, makes it a great listen while "Thanks For All The Beautiful Memories" borrows the vocal line from the worship song "I Just Want To Praise You" and clearly shows where the heart of the band is. 'Crazy Love' comes packaged with 'The Light Sides' where the band offer stripped down acoustic versions of fan favourites from their earlier albums. It's a nice bonus, but not a patch on CD one.
