America's Harvest started in 1979 as a trio and by 1982 had become a duo, Jerry Williams and Ed Kerr. This music is pretty varied, ranging from simple country tinged strums, easy-listening inspirational ballads and on the tracks from the later albums more contemporary pop. Heard individually Harvest's albums have never particularly impressed me but this 'est of' compilation, offering all their big American Christian radio hits like "Only The Overcomers", "I Will Worship The Lord", "Behold God", "Because I Am" and "The Army Of The Lord" cut through my resistance and blessed me. Some of the arrangements are dated, and their warbling harmonies won't be to everyone's taste, but Harvest clearly had and have a powerful ministry. It's a shame they've never been to Britain to build up the following that Don Francisco, who at times they slightly resemble, enjoys.

I have this cd filled with classic Harvest songs from the
start of their ccm career. I luv "The Battle is the LORD's"
(a popular phrase used by other ccm artists, same year too I
might add (1984);to include Twila Paris & Jamie
Owens-Collins". "All That is in Me" from 1987 is a big
fave. I really luv "Because I AM" what an awesome
song;awesome arrangement! It is definitely one of the
group's most memorable songs from 1982. A song from their
first album (1979)"Yesterday",is another great song I luv!!
I was disappointed that "The Blood of the Lamb" was left out
from this great collection! I was glad to see something by
this duo on cd; especially classics!
