In case there's still any confusion, House Of God Mark 1 were a creation-of-the-studio who did three songs on an Edge cassette in 1989 paving the way for British inspirational dance. House Of God Mark 2 (no real connection) are three radical Leeds funksters, scratcher DJ LJ and two rappers Riff and Jay Tee who on the evidence of this debut recording are really getting their studio act together and producing a sound which is not only thoroughly happening dance wise but has plenty of deft touches of British originality. Like starting with a John Lennon sample on the kicking opener or using what sounds like a wrong speed record to provide a spacey almost Music Concrete riff for "Mellow Track". Samples great, scratching great, raps great, these guys are cooking. Book them at your youth event now.
