This eight-track mini album was recorded in the summer of 2001 and there definitely is an energy about it, what with the overload of electric guitars and weird sound effects (alarm clocks and school bells) that make you wish summer was here now. The four guys responsible for 'Wish You Were Here' are Josh Bowker, Andrew 'Doug' Davies, Chris Heyes and Matt Hewiitt. This album has several great tracks, "Am I Selfish" is a remarkable acoustic ballad and is clearly the standout track and it is on here that we hear Josh Bowker's vocals at their best. It convinces me that these guys are capable of producing fantastic songs. It may well be that because the songs are taken from across a three year period that these four guys, who clearly yearn to know more of Jesus, have grown up in the process but only several of the tracks reflect that. There is a raw quality about this cheap 'n' cheerful production. Given the studio time they could produce something magnificent.
