Gregory describes on his website how jazz was a musical influence on his childhood alongside his singing in the church choir. Here on this, his first album, it is not difficult to hear both. His voice has a gentle, soulful feel and his trumpet playing shines on the (almost) instrumental "Walkin". Sadly, what has let Gregory down is his songwriting. The title track sounds like a phase was put to a backing track and repeated, even guest vocalists Rynard Brown, Libby Cabello and Billy Badd-DuBose cannot save it, and "Look What The Lord Has Done For Me" changes pace mid-verse! Although this album has a shaky start, it does contain some good moments where his voice serves him well such as on the slightly retro "Work To Do", the soulful "There Your Love Is" with the guest vocalists lending a hand, and the foot-tapping "Payday Is Coming". With stronger songs this soulful singer will attract attention.
