Nashville-based singer/songwriter and producer Greg LaFollette has popped up on hundreds of CCM albums over the years and this 2017 five-track EP sees him venture out as an artist in his own right. Pulling in favours from acts he has previously worked with, the likes of Andrew Peterson, Lori Chaffer and All Sons & Daughters' Leslie Jordan all make an appearance on what is a gentle and unobtrusive collection of worship songs that will wash over the listener without really sticking in the memory. For the first two tracks, LaFollette draws on Psalms 27 and 136 for inspiration and, whilst the combination of his tender Tennessee tones and generic acoustic guitar-led backing sounds like countless other Nashville CCM releases out there, this is a pleasing enough offering from an undoubtedly talent musician. A country-tinged rendition of the Arthur A Luther hymn "Jesus Never Fails" is arguably the highlight of this musically competent but largely uneventful EP.
