Graham Hyatt is a member of Elim Church, Guildford, and has given us a very respectable CD album, with generous playing time (59 minutes) and a neat line in poppy guitar-driven material. This is no back bedroom effort, this has been properly recorded and mixed, and the technical benefit of having the album edited and mastered at ICC Studios is obvious - sound quality is good throughout. The songs are in the main directed heavenward, whether it's praise ("Beauty Beyond Compare"), worship ("We Come And Bow"), or petition ("Restore Us"), the melodies are good and tuneful and the lyrics largely free of the hackneyed phrases too often found when well meaning but musically challenged three-chart merchants attempt to articulate their feelings for their Saviour. This is a lesson in how to do a good album on a budget that would just about pay for the producer's coffee and doughnuts in any big-shot studio in Nashville. Worth investigating.
