Gold City have been one of Southern gospel's top acts for many a long year. In recording a new album it is always a good idea to start with something catchy and they certainly achieve this with the opener "Peter, James And John". All 10 tracks on this CD are good and with steel guitar and fiddle on some songs this has a more country feel than some other recent Gold City releases. Reading the sleevenotes it would appear the album has come about despite personal adversity which makes the whole thing seem like a statement of faith. If I had to pick favourites I would suggest the catchy "Leave That Burden" which I found very moving, and the closing song "Never Too Broken To Belong". They always say the best music is the music of the heart and in listening to this fine album I find a depth of meaning quite unlike many other albums I have heard recently. Recommended to anyone, even if Southern gospel is not normally something you listen to.
