This is a frenetic hybrid of ska and rock which seems so fashionable at the moment with these American bands. Because there's been no new wave of ska since the Two Tone, this won't immediately make much sense to a British audience but nonetheless, Godrocket light up their sky with ska that is pacy, fun, chunky and essentially ell focused. Scratchy guitars, er, scratch and horns blast and sometimes they're out of tune but all the shouted vocal choruses are delivered with gusto! "Shoe Fetish" is, well, it's about shoes whilst "David And Goliath" tells the familiar story. I personally enjoyed the funkier and wonderfully titled, "The Stereo's In The Oven". Just crazy! Squeezing 15 of these little gems onto one CD and just letting loose, Godrocket are a bit rough and ready but I bet they really deliver live! Fun!
