A fifth release from the singer, worship leader and prayer minstrel (his description, not mine) based in Preston, Lancashire, who is an associate of Gerald Coates' Pioneer organisation. Facts for trivia freaks: for over 20 years, before he became a full time musician, Godfrey was a press photographer, and he's a distant relative of 19th century hymnwriter James ("Angels From The Realms Of Glory") Montgomery. The title track of his last album "Outrageous Grace" was a huge hit at Grapevine 2000 and this latest offering was recorded live at the Glenwood Church, Cardiff, apart from two tracks recorded at the Soundhouse in Cobham under the direction of Caroline Bonnett, and the whole thing was mixed by Daniel Bowater at dB Studios in Lincoln. Godfrey's talent for writing catchy, hooky songs is undoubted and his enthusiasm clearly rubbed off on the congregation, as the participation level is high throughout. Nevertheless, the most radio friendly song on the album is the studio cut of the title track, which has the same anthemic quality as "Outrageous Grace". A recent album of the week on UCB Inspirational, and deservedly so.
