Not sure how to classify this. A five person acappella group cannot qualify as choral; there are insufficient hymns to label it hymnody; it does not kick enough for traditional gospel and easy listening/mor sounds unfairly bland. So soft pop will have to do. Hope you have got the picture! This is the third album by God Is. They have taken the brave but necessary decision to start using more of their own material. Five of the 11 tracks here are by lead tenor Billy wilson and there is also a new setting of Psalm 23 by Drew Phillips. Some of these songs are perhaps a little too similar. "What Shall I Do With You?" and "He's Coming Back" are both fine compositions but too alike to be allowed on the same album. The material on "Miracle Of Birth" is not quite as strong as on the previous God Is release ("God Is So Good', reviewed in CR27) but they have taken the brave step of presenting more of their own work and deserve your support. Singing and production are competent, their love for the Lord shines through and the album merits your attention.

I loved that album. In fact, I had it but lost it. I have
searched everywhere for a copy unsuccessfully. Contrary to
your writeup, I found it insipiring. I think I repeated
most of the tracks 20X times in one sitting.
