As the cassette which accompanies this songbook clearly demonstrated, the vision of bringing together churches from all over the Midlands (including Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists and Black Pentecostals) for a resource to celebrate "the creativity of congregational worship within local churches" comes unstuck because of the weakness of much of the material gathered together. This is stilted religious music which manages to have none of the fire of the best contemporary worship songs nor the theological depth of the great old hymns. An effort which will be ignored by all save those who contributed to it.
