Reviewed by Paul Obrey What did the '80s mean to me? Secondary school, the first Sony Walkman, Bananaman, that sticky octopus toy that crawled down windows, puberty, The Alarm, my calculator watch and Selena Scott (not necessarily in that order). I could go on, but my list would not include that American CCM band, Glad, as it was not to my taste at the time. This CD's "10 of their most memorable songs plus two new songs." And very strong songs they are, in the main. The prominent bass, deep drums and thick harmonies bring back memories of Toto and Chicago and, for an '80s aficionado (and sadly I know a few) this is a very respectable reminder of the era before they discovered the acapella music cash cow. Well produced and performed, its only disappointment is that the two "new" songs are easily lost amongst the rest, which shows their passe style. A fine collection of their Nashville Christian pop nonetheless. Now, where did I put my Donkey Kong game?
