Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Madonna and Gina are all babes who make great dance music. The only things that the former three have over Gina are multi-million dollar promotional campaigns. Dance worship buffs will already know Gina as the voice on the best selling 'Nitro Praise'. Now on her first full N-Soul album she turns in a set of hot vocals which perhaps lack the experience of Madonna and aren't quite as soulful as Mariah but, hey, she's only 19! If this young lady stays true to the call on her life and stays mates with her writer/producers then I see no reason why she couldn't 'make it' in the secular world as well as taking the CCM market by storm. This album will blow a lot of people away with the obvious 'heart' that it holds within the strong dance grooves and infectious hooks, something that is hard to find within some sanctified dance music. Gina and her writers have obviously worked hard to write such accessible songs which still retain a full gospel message and have plenty of dance floor sensibilities. I like this album a lot, it really has fed my soul over the last couple of weeks. Go out and buy it as soon as Alliance get it in the shops.
