Exeter-based songsmith Gavin refers to journeys on his website. He explores the idea that life is a journey, but contained within it are many smaller journeys along the way. He speaks of the creation of this, his first album, as a rather remarkable journey which has taken him to many different countries and has given him the opportunity to meet many interesting people along the way. With the release of 'Love Lift Me Higher', the listener is invited to share in Cox's spiritual travels and, as with all such emotive releases, to find parallels with their own. Although the album is not exclusively a Christian release, there are definitely strong Christian underpinnings to a number of the tracks here. Produced by Bob Cranham (Newton Faulkner, Helen Shapiro), 'Love Lift Me Higher' has a professional sound and clean production which complements Gavin's laid back musical stylings. Tracks of particular note are "Lift Me Higher", "Show Me" and "Crash".
