This filmed reunion captures a bit of Southern gospel history as Bill Gaither reaches for his address book to reassemble the various line ups of the Vocal Gaither Band for a special reunion concert. Singers like David Phelps, Russ Taff, Larnelle Harris, Michael English, Gary McSpadden, Mark Lowry and Guy Penrod all went on to solo success so it's fascinating to hear them in the original context of a group of good ol' boy harmonisers. Bill Gaither interviews many of his former singing partners and there are truly some emotional moments when some former members honestly admit some of the pressures that life on the road brings. The album starts with the very catchy "Passing The Faith Along"; I particularly enjoyed "I'll Meet You In The Morning" where Jim Murray leads this in a much slower version than I have been accustomed to. The very new "Build An Ark" goes down a hoot as old and current members really have fun. David Phelps is very powerful singing lead on "Love That Will Not Let Me Go", and another highlight is "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walks" where Larnelle Harris and Michael English share lead vocals. The DVD closes on a very high note with Mark Lowry singing his classic Christmas song "Mary Did You Know". With a running time of 100 minutes this DVD offers excellent value for money and fans of the Gaithers will love this.
