I have to admit that my interest in Francesca plummeted after her version of "Holy Spirit" soared to number one in the US Christian charts when I felt it was not in the same class as the original by Bryan & Katie Torwalt. But clearly I was premature in writing off the New York-born singer as a mediocre interpreter of songs. Here she takes her own composition, written with David Garcia and Bart Millard, and conveys its message with passion and soul. "Sick and tired of being sick and tired/Had so much of you that I can take/I'm so done, so over being afraid." Seldom has a denouncement of the Devil and all his works been communicated so powerfully. But wait, the video interprets the lyric as being a breakup song about an abusive lover. Yep, the clever lyric makes that work as well.
