Having achieved moderate success on the radio charts with their previous release Wyoming indie rockers Foreverlin return with their third full length. Again drawing comparisons to their Christian counterparts Switchfoot, 'Still After' produced by Josiah Hughes brings more of their alternative-rock sound, covering styles from instrumentals to straight-up rock. Backed by a spacious, cleverly-textured soundscape, the lyrics are never afraid to cover difficult topics, the spiritual undertones always leaving the listener with an overarching sense of hope. "Pathway" with its driving guitars, crunchy riffs and growling vocals urges us to press forward while "Speak", the album highlight, is a soft, melodic piece based on the parable of the prodigal son and "Morning" offers up a Psalm-like prayer to God over an atmospheric backdrop of rain failing and chirping birds. The autobiographical closer "Sanguine" speaks to a friend who has experienced human failure while offering ultimate hope in divine love. Skilful, melodic instrumental interludes are interspersed throughout. A polished album of mature, creative music.
