Reviewed by Andrew Coe Focusfest, Northern Ireland's largest event for Christian women, aims to combine worship with strong Biblical teaching. This latest album showcases some of the worship from last year's event. Leading the worship band for this CD is Sarahanne Wilmont, ex-backing vocalist for Geraldine Latty, and the album combines some of Sarahanne's songs with those from other leading songwriters. 'Only You' offers a soft piano-led style of worship. Sarahanne's voice is attractive and distinctive and the fact that Sarahanne's own songs here stand up against the likes of Reuben Morgan's "This Is Our God" and Robin Mark's "Jesus, All For Jesus" shows that Sarahanne is a bright new songwriting talent. A standout track is "Come To Me" based on Matthew 11:28, and echoes Jesus' call for those who are weary to find rest in him while the opener "Just As I Am" explores similar themes, this time focusing on our need to come to Jesus as we are. The album ends on the oldie "How Great Is Our God". Well up to the standard of previous Focusfest albums. The opinions expressed in this article are not necessarily those held by Cross Rhythms. Live Worship from this years Focusfest Women’s conference in Belfast, led by Sarahanne Wilmont. Sarahanne is no stranger to Focusfest, having sung backing vocals for Geraldine Latty at Focusfest on a number of occasions. Sarahanne began singing and writing songs at a young age, encouraged by parents who loved God. Following a degree in Theology and Sociology at Queens University, where she met her husband, Peter, Sarahanne trained as a teacher. She now worships at Carnmoney Presbyterian church in Northern Ireland with her husband and two young children. Focusfest Women's Conference was founded in 1993 and has become Northern Ireland's largest event for Christian women, drawing women of all ages together from different denominations, backgrounds and locations. The desire of Focusfest's heart is that Focusfest will be a tool for equipping and mobilising women of all ages to make a difference in their world. Imagine a group of women, young and old, who know their true worth and purpose in God, reaching out and showing God's love to those they encounter everyday!
