Fischy Music is the ministry of Scottish children's worker Stephen Fischbacher. Having bought the original of "I Feel Good" in 1966 and interviewed its composer James Brown in my pre-Christian R&B journalist years, it's a little peculiar to hear the song now transformed into children's ministry fodder. In truth, Fischy Music's version is not too great. But though he's no funkster, Stephen is able to get the kids bopping on his own compositions like the country-tinged "No Body Is A No-one" or the boogie rock "Special Kind Of Heroes". Some intriguing guest musos helping out on the crisply competent backing tracks, including members of those alt rock veterans Lies Damned Lies. If you've got some kiddie winkers needing a bop with a helpful dash of spiritual truth, this man delivers again.
