To write and play music has been an admirable skill for millennia. We are very fortunate to be in a position today where not only can that music be recorded for others to hear, but that those with the talents to write and perform can record it themselves. From my point of view, that is nothing but a good thing. If you required proof of this, you need look no further than this collection of songs from Cheltenham-based singer/songwriter Ewan Jones. Performed and recorded by him, and with the exception of one cover, all written by him, this collection of his more calm and serene songs is a joy to hear. Although it is true that the album lacks a certain amount of professional "polish" in its production and mastering, the quality in the musical craftsmanship is still clearly there. A simply enjoyable album from a very talented artist.
